DATRI Blood Stem Cell Donors Registry operates as one of India's largest unrelated blood stem cell donors registries. Established in 2009 as a Section 8 not-for-profit company under the Government of India, DATRI assists patients with blood cancer and other fatal blood disorders in finding HLA-matched blood stem cell donors. The registry supports blood stem cell transplants, which provide a potential cure for such conditions. It maintains membership in the World Marrow Donor Association and lists HLA typing information anonymously in Bone Marrow Donors Worldwide, accessible to global transplant centers.[1]

Located at 1208, 12th floor, Ticel Bio Park Phase 2, CSIR Road, Tharamani, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, DATRI functions across India. As of January 2023, it has registered over 5 lakh voluntary adult donors. The organization has facilitated more than 1074 transplants worldwide, including its 1000th blood stem cell collection in June 2022. These efforts have served patients from over 125 hospitals globally, with donations aiding both domestic and international cases.[1]

DATRI conducts awareness campaigns in educational institutions, corporates, and residential areas to promote blood stem cell donor registration. In December 2019, it marked 10 years of operations in Chennai. Registration involves a simple cheek swab process.[1][2]
