As the first and largest CBO in Chennai run by and for Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), Sahodaran serves sexual and gender minorities from low-income backgrounds across Chennai and Tamil Nadu.
The organization provides integrated health and social services including HIV/AIDS prevention and care, confidential STD testing and diagnosis, counseling services, psychoeducation, health camps, nutrition support, and crisis intervention. Services are delivered through targeted intervention programs conducted in partnership with the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society. Sahodaran distributes safer sex resources and conducts community outreach and education initiatives.
Beyond direct services, Sahodaran works to transform social attitudes toward sexual minorities and has supported MSM and transgender women to develop leadership skills and establish their own community organizations.
