Prema Vasam operates as a home for mentally and physically challenged children, as well as less fortunate children. Located at Thiru V.K.A. Road, Gerugambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, it provides residential care to over 200 children, including 132 special children. The organization serves children irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or financial background and is registered under the Charitable Trust Act with Registration No. 419 of 1999. It functions as a non-profitable entity.[1][2]

Founded on June 2, 1999, by Mr. Selvyn Roy, who serves as administrator, Prema Vasam emphasizes integration of special children with normal school-going children to foster sensitivity and support. Activities include physiotherapy with electrical and muscular stimulation, special education involving music and songs, play therapy, sports, classical dance training from Kalashethra, extracurriculars such as singing, drawing, and drumming, and monthly picnics or outings. The home maintains a balanced diet, hygienic environment, and healthy atmosphere for residents.[1][6][7]

Prema Vasam focuses on nurturing children's potentials to enable them to serve others, guided by the principle that love connects all regardless of disability, religion, gender, culture, or language.
